Sr. Data Architect, Lead (SAP HANA)

We have been retained by our client located in Dallas, Texas to deliver a Senior Data Architect, Lead for a regular full-time position for someone with experience in SAP and the columnar database HANA, as well as data modeling, data warehouse and ETL design experience to plan and architect data models and implement a large scale data warehouse with the SAP HANA platform.   This individual provides the leadership of database team, architectural vision, thought leadership, planning and oversight needed to define the company’s data strategy and enterprise application integration (EAI), and to implement them in meaningful, tangible ways, including but not limited to the implementation of an appropriately defined enterprise data model, data retention, data archival strategy and data governance ensuring integrity across the enterprise.  There are some initial performance issues that need be addressed.

We greatly desire to find some with hands-on design and development experience with native SAP HANA to create SAP HANA information architecture or SAP HANA data models such as HANA views, or calculation views, including SQL, complex ETL data flows with SDI, or smart data integration, SDA, smart data access, SAP data services within SAP’s HANA Cloud Platform and SAP’s HANA SQL and the SAP Analytics Cloud.   Interpret various disparate data feeds and ingest flat files into HANA using SAP cloud data integration tools to build custom data marts with ETL to source data marts within HANA.   Create complex ETL, or data aggregations on data sets prior to being loaded into HANA.   Leverage both SAP smart data integration, smart data access, data services and SAP HANA’s views, or calculation views to build a data mart structure.    Work with end stakeholders to perform validation and QC of final HANA mart output.  Create SAP HANA migration and optimization, HANA Sizing and performance tuning.   Use your functional background in SAP and understanding of SAP and apply those to business processes.    Translate functional specifications into technical specifications.  These are large data sets and data volumes requiring SAP’s data services and extract transfer and load (ETL) tools to accomplish tasks efficiently.

Qualified candidates should have ability to:

1)      Understand complex requirements and architecture design for data models, data marts and architecture of end to end real time analytical solutions using SAP HANA, SAP HANA SQL, ETL, and the reporting components.   We prefer experience building reports using SAP’s Business Objects Web Intelligence and/or Tableau, in example.    

2)  Understand SAP HANA data provisioning using smart data integration SDI, SAP BO Data Services (BODS) as an ETL tool used for data integration, data quality, data profiling and data processing real-time replication.    

3)  Architect and implement complex data models on SAP HANA, and non-SAP Data (i.e. SQL Server) that perform well and remain scalable.

4)  Understand SAP HANA in-memory technology, columnar databases, innovations.

5) Demonstrate excellent communication using spoken and written English.

6)  Demonstrate leadership qualities or attributes, or have supervision/leadership experience.

SAP HANA Cloud Platform Security, Smart Data Integration (SDI), SAP Data Services, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Predictive Analytics, SAP Smart Data Access, full life cycle implementations, columnar database design and architecture, big data technologies, Hadoop or other noSQL database, business intelligence data warehouse reporting tools, SAP, Tableau, QlikView, Pentho, Microsoft Power BI, and others.
