Infrastructure Engineer, AWS, DevOps

We have been retained by our client located in Plano, Texas to deliver an Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a regular full-time position for someone with experience in heavy Linux systems Administration, Ubuntu preferred, especially Low-Level Linux Administration, IP Tables as a Firewall, Logical Volume Manager (LVM), significant AWS experience, Linux security, containerization and migration to the various cloud providers Amazon, Google, etc..   Lift and shift and move to AWS.   Leadership experience highly preferred.

Requirements:
•             5+ years of AWS experience

•             Operational experience maintaining AWS security and traffic management using IAM roles and policies, ELB, CloudWatch and related technologies

•             Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) operations including EC2, S3, CloudFormation and related technologies

•             8-10+ years of Linux administration (prefer Ubuntu, or Debian, or CentOS) to include patching, performance tuning, networking (OSI model, TCP/IP, routing, ip tables, firewall from IP Tables), and user management, including heavy Linux Systems Administration including IP tables as a firewall, and Logical Volume Manager (LVM) for storage management.

•             Linux security experience, working knowledge of cyber security issues, trends and leading practices.

•             Experience with physical datacenter and bare metal administration/troubleshooting for both production and disaster recovery environments.

•             Experience with spinning up and administering Virtualized servers

•             Experience with Docker container platform and the container management life cycle

•             Experience with monitoring and alerting systems – Splunk is preferred, others are fine.

•             Managing/configuring DNS, DHCP, VPN’s

•             shell scripting experience

•             block data storage technologies experience: software RAID, hardware RAID, Fibre channel,    LVM (Logical Volume Manager).

•             Experience troubleshooting performance problems of computationally heavy loads in multi-cpu environments.

•             Experience in working within a continuous integration and continuous deployment CI/CD environment.

•             Ability to document current network environment and future technical solutions.

Preferred Experience:

•             Leadership, supervision experience highly preferred
•             AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate preferred
•             Knowledge of source control systems like Git

•             Splunk for systems monitoring and alerts

•             Experience with Chef (compiling recipes and cookbooks, not just server management) is a plus; Ruby is a plus.

•             Experience in working within a continuous integration environment

Employment Type: Full-Time Employment

Salary range:  $100,000 –  140,000 / year
